Parents of students who learn or attend differently are often faced with challenges that we may not have anticipated. We often have questions about how to best support them as they grow and move through their schooling.

Parent Consultation

While working with students, I also offer parents my empathy, support, and insight based on my own experience as a parent and years of working with children who learn differently.

  • Learning differently and your child's own unique talents and temperaments

  • Educational assessments and school accommodations

  • Adapting learning strategies as your child grows and develops

  • Appropriate expectations and goals linked with positive reinforcement

  • Student emotional response to learning

  • Communication skills with students, teachers, and other professionals

  • Taking care of ourselves and our own anxiety about our students' learning

  • Referrals to other allied professionals

We may discuss issues such as:
